Generation X, Millennials, and Gen.Z have taken to various social media platforms to express their thoughts and feelings on how they are staying safe, their coping mechanisms, and how they are acclimating to the new normal in an on-the-go America. However, there seems to be little coverage on Corona through the eyes of Boomers, so here are the thoughts and experiences of 5 Boomers.
What Once Was Concert Season
Spring and Summer are known for being concert seasons. As school comes to close many people look forward to the concert season because it is time to hang out with friends while listening to your favorite artists. But what once was concert season is now quarantine season. Due to the increasing rates of deaths and infections in the United States, businesses are forced to close, events with large gatherings are canceled and families are asked to stay quarantined for not only weeks but months. This means concerts are postponed. Some of these postponed concerts include Billie Ellish, Cardi B, Coachella, Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Jonas Brothers, Justin Bieber, Khalid, Lady Gaga and many more.
New Assistant Coach on the Court
This past season the Brenau Golden Tigers Basketball welcomed in a new assistant coach, Sheena Johnson, after former assistant coach Avery Scarbrough resigned.
Differing Opinions of Media Coverage Concerning Ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic
As the coronavirus panic only continues to become greater and more widespread, media has suffered a harsh back lashing for the methods and strategy in which they have delivered the news about the pandemic as it has evolved over the last few weeks. Many feel as if the media has fueled the fire of panic, and ensued much of the fear that is currently prevalent in the minds of many civilians. However, there is controversy as to whether the media is simply just doing their job by informing the citizens of the current political, economic, and social threats today.
Brenau takes precautions as the threat of Coronavirus begins to grow for students and faculty
Coronavirus or as it is more scientifically called COVID-19, has been the headline of every news story since it’s outbreak in China. While it seemed to be of minimal concern when it was first mentioned, it is quickly beginning to spread through to other countries including the United States. Brenau University has assured us that they will begin taking necessary precautions to ensure that students remain unaffected by the outbreak.
