On Saturday, Feb. 8, the students at the Gainesville Campus of Brenau University decided to spend the day out and about, enjoying the snow whilst it lasts. Here are a few pictures taken of how some students spent their Saturday in the snow:
The work being showcased is from students who are all a part of Brenau’s Art Department. Some work featured in the exhibition is digital posters or printings, sculptors, paintings, photography, pieces of clothing and drawings. Students involved come from all different areas of the art department such as fashion design, graphic design, interior design, or even undeclared students.
Winning a talent show can teach the importance of continuing to pursue your passions. This past Saturday at Brenau’s Winter Weekend LaTonya Boston tapped her way to 1st place at Brenau’s Got Talent. She won the grand prize of $750.00. Boston is a sophomore dance major and was an elite member of the NoFilterSoulTalk teen group founded by Syncopated Ladies, an Emmy nominated dance troupe. Her year with Syncopated Ladies gave her the talented ability to beat her fierce competitors at BGT, whom some are also professional dancers.
Skleder is so much more than just our president. She is now someone who likes the same food as you, someone who gives you big hugs and smiles, or someone who loves the same music as you. Jody Wall, Chief of Staff and Executive Assistance to the president says, “The three words I would use to describe her personality is kindness, concerned, and boundless energy.”
At Brenau, the Spirit Cheer Team stands behind the bench of the Basketball Team making it easy to spot both teams during the game. To the ones in the stands watching, these 11 bodies don’t make a difference, but to the basketball players it means everything. “Without the Spirit Cheer Team, the gym feels a little empty,” said Tamia Francis, a Brenau basketball player.
