The Brenau Swim Team raised over $230 at their Chick-fil-A profit share Wednesday at the Pearl Nix Parkway location. Chick-fil-A donated %10 of the revenue from sales made between 5 and 8 p.m. to fund the swim team. They’ve never done an event like this before, but feel it has been one of their most profitable fundraisers thus far. In the past, the swim team has raised money through selling t-shirts and swim lessons, and through events like their annual float-a-thon and car washes.
Swimmers Lisa Portwood, Monica Souther and Hannah Boudreaux, reported that they enjoyed this fundraiser and were much more impressed by the turnout than they have been by team fundraisers in the past. During the given time period, Chick-fil-A made over $2,300 in sales. The swimmers felt that, “It was better promoted than past events, through the use of social networking and encouragement from athletes.”
Brenau students Hannah Bailey and Lydia Gerrin, who attended the event, agreed that they liked the choice of restaurant for the event. “Although it was pretty crowded toward the beginning, I would definitely go support the swim team again,” said Gerrin.
