All of America’s televisions have turned to the devastation that has overtaken most of the Northeastern states, primarily New York and New Jersey. Category 1 Superstorm Sandy has left over half a million people without power and many fleeing their homes from flooding.
There have been reports of sharks swimming in the front yards of coastal homes because of flooding from the Atlantic Ocean. Due to serious flooding, Superstorm Sandy has even caused extensive damage to the 9/11 memorial built at the World Trade Center.
There are many stations in New York in which people go to charge their cell phones at the very few locations that have power. There is an expected $20+ billion in damages for the devastation that Superstorm Sandy has produced and the death toll has now reached a total of 157.
The extensive damage done to the Northeastern United States will take a lot of time and money to repair. The lives of the ones affected are definitely in the thoughts of the citizen’s of America and hopes are set high for the repairs to come for the city.
