Grammys(Gainesville GA) February is the month of annual awards ceremonies for the most talented people in music and cinema. While the 85th Academy Awards ceremony will take place at the end of the month on Feb. 24, the 55th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be held earlier on Feb.10 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

At the Grammy ceremony, musicians, whose work was considered the best according to the members of the National Academy of Recording Arts & Science, will be awarded with small statuettes of golden gramophones. The Grammy statuette is the most prestigious music award, like the Oscar statuette in the world of cinema.

This year, three new nominations were added to the list of the Grammy Awards categories – Best Classical Compendium, Best Latin Jazz Album and Best Urban Contemporary Album, which increased the total awards to 81.
As for the nominees this year, there is no surprise that such already known bands as Mumford & Sons and The Black Keys, more precisely their front man, Dan Auerbach, received the most number of nominations–six each.

The Black Keys had a really good year, and their last album, “El Camino,” was named best album of the year by Rolling Stone and Time. Also, Jay- Z and Kanye West received six nominations.

As for the musicians who don’t have big names in the music industry yet, the group Fun, which became very popular with the single “We are Young,” and Frank Ocean with his sweet voice and melodic song “Thinkin Bout You” received six nominations too.

Last year, Adele was the sensation of the ceremony after winning all six nominations. On Feb. 10, we will see if somebody from this year’s nominees can repeat Adele’s success.
