(GAINESVILLE, Ga.) The week of professional development at Brenau University starts on March 25th and runs until March 28th (Monday through Thursday), providing students with career advice, interview skills and internship opportunities.
This event is held by the School of Business and Mass Communication in a joint effort with Career Services. It is designed to help students meet local employers and find out about internship opportunities in the Gainesville area.
Students going to the Career and Internship Fair are required to register on the student life page of Brenau’s official website at: http://www.brenau.edu/studentlife/internfairstudent/
The fair is from 1 to 4 pm at the Northeast Georgia History Center at Brenau University. Professional attire and resume are recommended for those planning to attend.
The annual Etiquette Dinner with professional dress advice will happen at the History Center from 6 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, March 26th. Registration with a $10 pre-payment is available on the Career Services page.
Juli Clay, assistant professor of Mass Communication and department chair of the undergraduate program in the School of Business Administration, introduced the event. “It is a four-session delicate dinner,” she said, “It’s ten dollars. But McDonald’s ten dollars too.”
Other events include the Brown Bag Lunch and Learn at the Jacobs Building, on Monday with HR panel for resume and interview advice, and on Wednesday with advice on contacts, networking and how to work a job fair.
