Did Duchess Catherine Accidentally Reveal the Gender of her baby?

By: Braiden Rudloff

kate midelton(Gainesville, Ga.) On Tuesday March 12, Duchess Catherine was in Grimsby, England speaking to a crowd of people who had been awaiting her arrival when she almost said her baby’s gender.

A lady who had been waiting to welcome the Duchess handed Catherine a stuffed toy for her baby. Duchess Catherine thanked the woman saying, “Thank you, I will take that for my d… for my baby.” It seems as if the Duchess was about to say daughter but then quickly caught herself. Even though the royal couple is claiming they don’t know the gender of their baby, it may be that they do know but are keeping it to themselves.

Catherine’s slip of the tongue has many talking about a future princess. The royal family is even working on changing the law to where a first daughter can take the throne instead of the oldest son. When this process is completed, the new baby, if it is indeed a girl, will be the first child of the family to be in line to the throne.  Since this process has already begun, it seems as if the royal family is expecting a princess to be born.

Although, since so much of Duchess Catherine’s life is public, who can blame her for wanting to keep some of her life private? Catherine has said nothing else about her slip of the tongue. She is not giving anything else away.

We will all just have to await her baby’s arrival to know sure for sure whether it is a prince or a princess.
