Miley Cyrus has become a prominent name in the media lately. Although most of the things said have not been good, isn’t it true that any publicity is good publicity?
It began with chopping her hair off, which we all remember was something of a tragedy. People hated it, and they all wanted to post the picture to show all of their friends how terrible Miley looks. Well, what these people didn’t realize is that they were just helping her to climb up on the list of Google’s most searched celebrities.
Next came her inability to wear clothes. Miley got super fit, and wanted to show it off, which grew many supporters. In any case, where there are supporters, there are haters. Parents were furious, because Miley was supposed to be a role model. Fitness freaks were ecstatic to see their girl Miley jump on the health wagon. Either way, everyone was yet again highly concerned with Miley Cyrus.
Not too much later, she released her video for “We can’t Stop”. We all know how that went. Despite your love, or you hatred, for the video, you were showing all of your friends, right? Everyone wanted to see Miley half naked dancing with a huge bear on her back. I mean, who doesn’t love a good leotard with DOPE written across the front? My point is that we all wanted to see the next step in what we call her “breakdown”.
“We Can’t Stop” was just pre-game to the real show. “Wrecking Ball” was released after, and become one of the most viewed videos on Youtube. Everyone acted like they had never seen a naked Miley swinging on a wrecking ball. Well, actually, that was a genuine shock. Despite everyone’s disgust with her nakedness, and her strange makeout sessions with a sledgehammer, they were all showing their friends. I know I was showing everyone how crazy and gross Miley has gotten!
But somewhere between her infamous music videos, we have the VMAs. She made a complete fool of herself, as usual, half naked, and grinding on Robin Thicke. We just had to keep showing everyone the next outrageous thing she had done. People made many inappropriate, yet hilarious memes about her, thinking they were really showing Miley who’s boss. When, in all reality, they were just giving her name and face way more exposure!
Everyone in this world has to admit that they love to hate Miley Cyrus, but they also hate to love her. She is causing quite the scandal, and no one can seem to turn off the television. It’s like how everyone says, “It’s like watching a car crash, you don’t want to see it, yet you can’t turn away.” We are all bystanders just watching Miley Cyrus’ car crash, and making sure that everyone comes outside to watch the crash with us.
