By: MONICA SANCHEZ

(Gainesville, Ga) A young boy’s last wish was to come home for Christmas, which was his favorite holiday. He was welcomed home by a christmas tree and motorcycle-riding Santa Claus, but sadly passed away just two weeks later. Doctors had told the family that he didn’t have long to live. He was only a 13 year old boy.

His name was Devin. He was diagnosed with brain cancer in the summer of 2012. He died Monday afternoon. “He had the gift of being able to see how much everyone loved him”, said his mother. Devin was flown from Cincinnati where he was being treated in Port Clinton on Oct. 27th. Devin died in Port Clinton where he spent  his last few days at home with family and friends. Thousands of cards from as far as France, Australia, and Russia filled Devins apartment. Devin’s Family read as many of the cards as they could to him. This cards reminded everyone all over the world the importance of love. Many of Devins toys and teddy bears were collected in donation boxes all over the city of about 6,000 people. Devin made sure his classmates who came to visit took home stuffed bear. He touched a lot of people and showed how to love .
