(Gainesville, GA) On Friday, February 14th, Valentine’s Day is celebrated by millions of people in different countries. However, many people do not consider this romantic holiday a reason to celebrate.
Many girls without a special someone in their lives absolutely hate the holiday. Bella Castille, a freshman at Brenau University says “I believe it is a holiday set up by candy companies to make money.” Bailey Hicks, a sophomore at Brenau states, “I think it is just an excuse for people in relationships to flaunt their love.”
Overall, most the people I have talked to agreed that Valentine’s Day isn’t exactly their favorite holiday. I, do not have a problem with the holiday. I love all holidays! Even if you do not have a special someone in your life, make the best of it. Instead, celebrate with your friends. Show them how much you love and appreciate them!
