(Gainesville, Ga.) – At the start of spring semester, a lot of things can happen to a college student. You may be mentally and/or physically over school, finishing the year out strong or if you are a senior, you might be panicking about what will come next in your life!
So there is good and bad news for you… The good news is that in you will have a college degree soon. The bad news is no one will hire you without experience! This is exactly why college is cute but an internship is the most important thing you can do during your college career.

Let’s face it… you wouldn’t want to buy anything that didn’t have all the features it was supposed to come with, right? So why would they?
It’s probably not too late to get out a find an internship before graduation, but you might have no idea where to begin. Here are a few tips from About Careers that can help you on your way:
1. NETWORK, NETWORK, NETWORK! It isn’t all about what you know, it’s who you know. It is crucial to build relationships with strangers, church members, professors, etc. Additionally, get involved on campus! Whether you join an honor society, a campus-sponsored club or a sorority, you are building leadership abilities and networking opportunities all at once.
2. Be prepared. Keep a copy of your information and resume on and you at all times! You never know who you’ll meet and where/when you meet them. For that reason, it is important to be prepared when seeking employment.
3. Communication is key. Remember to call or email to follow up! You are looking for the job, the job is not looking for you. You have to make sure they know that you are serious about the position you seek.
