(Gainesville, Ga) The Brenau University Volleyball team competed at home on Saturday, September 17 against Bethel University. The first set was a loss for Brenau 3-25. The team struggled with settling into their rotation of the game. The points they earned in the first set were given from the opposing team, leaving a disappointing match to begin the game. The second and third set showed a different momentum of Brenau, they were out for a win. Brenau and the opposing team were head to head for the second set, yet Bethel delivered a heart wrenching loss for Brenau with a score of 21-25. The third set was a close game similar to the second set, having close calls by the referee about both Brenau and Bethel. The team put up a fight but the Golden Tigers just couldn’t grasp a win against Bethel, losing the third set 17-25. This leaves Brenau with a 2-10 record in the NAIA, Division I, and Southern States Athletic Conference. With the way the sets went, team captains Allie Smith and Pamela Konken want to focus on ways the team could improve for their next game on September 22, 2016 against William Carey University.

“We have practice everyday for about 2 and a half hours. We also have a preseason before school starts which consists of two or three practices a day. ”
How did you first get interested in volleyball?
“I wanted to play volleyball because my sister was on the high school team. I started playing when I was in 7th grade.”
Describe the teamwork involved in Brenau Volleyball.
