On January 22, Atlanta Falcons and Green Bay Packers fans gathered in the Georgia Dome to cheer on two teams with a solid chance to enter the 2017 Super Bowl. Both teams came into the game with a decent record and an even chance on advancing. This game was bound to be a good one. Of course, there had to be another game played in order to find out who will play the winner of the Falcons vs. Packers game. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the New England Patriots faced each other in Gillette Stadium. The winners of each game would face each other in the biggest football game of the season. The pressure was on. This is the one game that counts; this is the one game that really matters. With anxiety arising as each quarter of the game rolls on, the Falcons and Patriots succeeded in becoming the final two teams left standing. The final score of the Falcon’s game was 44-21, and the Patriot’s breezed past the Steelers with the final score of 36-17.  It’s settled. The final announcement rang out that the Patriots would take on the Falcons in the 2017 Super Bowl on Sunday, February 5th at 6:30 pm at the NRG Stadium in Houston Texas. The last “Sunday Night Football” of the season.

According the Sports Illustrated, The Patriots are chosen to be favored over the Falcons by just three points. I think what they are expecting is a great ball game. Though they have an edge with their past appearances in the Super Bowl, the Patriots are up against a tough underdog team hoping to pull off the victory. The New England Patriots last won the Super Bowl two years’ prior squeezing by with the final score of 28-24 against the Seattle Seahawks. This was the only win out of the past five Super Bowl appearances. Unlike the Patriots, the Falcons have had only one appearance in the Super Bowl in franchise history. In 1999, the falcons beat the Minnesota Vikings in overtime to see the Super Bowl spotlight. Falling short to the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 1999 seemed to put a damper on the Falcons luck. A long 18 years since the Falcons flew onto Super Bowl field, but this time they intend to walk away with the victory. This time hopeful fans, players and, of course, Matt Ryan will hope that their luck doesn’t run out.

All you Super Bowls fans know that record, experience and talent doesn’t matter when those lights come on. Either team has a chance to win underdog or not. Ironically, the Atlanta Falcons are known for their offense and the New England Patriots are known for their defense. The battle between the two shall be interesting. I’ve always heard that defense wins games. We will see if that is the case on February 5th. Both teams will be tested mentally and physically as the overbearing crowd and millions of football lovers have their eyes glued to the field. There is no room or time for mistakes. The big day is finally coming and I’m curious to see who can withstand the pressure and overcome any obstacles in order to get the Victory at Super Bowl LI.
