Why is “Stranger Things” so Strange?

November 13, 2017 By Keiara Lyons Leave a Comment

The craze about the Netflix series Stranger Things has the audience going wild. But how are the students of Brenau acting towards it? Around campus, you will find students rushing to get to their dorms to binge-watch or to “Netflix and chill.”After speaking to some students on campus, some stated that they “completed the first and second seasons within three days”, or “find themselves re-watching episodes just to feel that ‘rush’ again.”

If you have not jumped onto the wave, it’s time to boogie Tigers. The directors of this phenomenal show, the Duffer Brothers, definitely gave science fiction stories another definition.

The plot of this science fiction will leave you gasping for air wanting more, especially if you have not seen it yet; you should! In the setting of the 1980s, a young boy by the name of Mike vanishes in the town of Hawkins; his three friends make it their duty to come to his rescue. After a town search, a remarkable discovery was made in a parallel world, or as the show calls is, the “Upside Down”. Eventually others go missing, but their disappearance is a little “strange”.

The first season is posted on Netflix and fans be on the look out for season 2 because things might get just a little bit more stranger.
