Brenau University kicked off their softball 2018 season late Feb. during Spring Break. Caroline Mitchell, Freshman Health Science Major, joins the team in their excitement for the season.
Caroline has been playing softball since she was very young. Her parents exposed her to a variety of sports to help her decide which was her favorite along with which one she had skill in. This is why she has always loved sports and participating in athletics.
She ended up choosing softball because it gives her the opportunity to release everything else going on day to day and focus on the sport itself. She enjoys being able to better herself within the sport as well as learning lessons that she can apply outside of softball too.
She is currently playing pitcher for Brenau and has played this position almost her entire softball journey. She says she has loved this sport since she was a little girl, “I tried out just for fun when I was eight and my team only had one pitcher. I ended up loving it, so my dad found me a pitching coach, so I could learn to pitch correctly.”
Caroline not only enjoys the sport she plays but the team at Brenau. She believes that they have a strong connection between every girl on the team which is important. This bond helps them trust that each person will do their job on the field when it counts and help them all become successful.
You can find Caroline braiding at least four teammates hair before a game. If you would like to get to know more about team or the softball schedule visit the Brenau athletics webpage.
