The Brenau University Golden Tigers soccer team was able to come back from a loss to the University of Mobile in overtime on Friday. The girls defeated the Spring Hill College Badgers by a decisive score of 4-1 in conference matchup on Saturday at Allen Creek Soccer Complex in
Gainesville.
Brenau came out strong and put a lot of pressure on the Badgers’ defense. The Tigers (5-2, 1-1 SSAC) were able to take an early lead in the sixth minute on a goal by Esther Anwanyu from a pass by Linda Chukwuji. Brenau kept pressing through most of the first half and took a 2-0 lead in the 28th minute when Kayla Madsen was able to put one past the Spring Hill goalkeeper.
However, the tigers could not sustain their aggressive attacks and Spring Hill’s Amanda Allen cut the lead to one on a goal. Brenau would take the 2-1 lead into the half.

The Golden Tigers came back in the second half with increased focus and intensity, playing much better defense through the second half.
