peeps(Gainesville, Ga.) The well-known Easter candy, Peeps celebrates its 60th birthday this Easter. Peeps is a popular candy treat that many children and adults alike enjoy. It is a marshmallow shaped chick covered with a sugary coating. Peeps come in all different colors and generally begin to show up on store shelves near Easter time.

To celebrate their 60th anniversary, Peeps has created their first T.V commercial. This commercial will focus on the memories and stories of Peeps. As Ross Born, third generation operator of Just Born Inc, which is the factory that makes Peeps says, “Everyone seems to have a Peeps story.” The commercial will feature consumers’ stories that have been shared with the Just Born Inc. Company over the years. Since consumers are already willingly sharing their stories of Peeps with the makers, there are plenty of stories to use in the commercials. As Easter is approaching, start looking for these upcoming commercials.

Peeps has introduced new candies based on the original Peeps over the last few years. Among these newer candies are: Peepsters (chocolate candies with marshmallow cream inside), Chocolate dipped Peeps, and a hollow chocolate egg with a Peep hidden inside.

Not only has Peeps introduced new versions of the original Peeps for Easter, but they have also produced other holiday themed treats. Christmas and Valentines versions of Peeps have also been made and sold near those holidays.

Just Born Inc. is proud of their 60 years creating Peeps candies. Although they have had slower years in the past, 2012 was one of their best years yet. The company is hopeful that 2013 will produce even more profit. They plan to keep creating more versions of Peeps and to continue creating the delicious candy throughout the year.
