Peach State Pride is a company that was founded by Derek Chitwood who was born and raised in Canon, Georgia. The company’s purpose is to start a movement to promote and show appreciation for the great state of Georgia. Peach State Pride, also, gives 15% of all of there profits to the Georgia Historical Society, the Georgia Wildlife Resources Division and the Georgia Cancer Foundation. Every year, the company shares their movement on college campuses with their Peach State Pride Greek Philanthropy Competition. This year Brenau University is participating, along with 16 other universities, in this competition, statewide. During the month of October, greek affiliates will receive promo codes of 40% off to share with their family and friends. The sorority’s promo code that has been most active on the site by the end of the month will get 15% of the competition’s profits donated to the philanthropy of their choice. Currently, the Kappa Delta chapter at Georgia College & State University is in first place, with other chapters closing in. The Greek community at Brenau is proud to say that one of the sororities on our campus was in the top thirty in the first round. The competition ends October 31st at midnight, which leaves 9 days left for Brenau to keep up the great work and continue competing for this philanthropic opportunity.
