(Gainesville, Ga.) Tuesday, October 22, 2013, the Brenau University volleyball team beat Martin Methodist at home. This win secured them a spot in the Southern States Athletic Conference tournament.
The Brenau Golden Tigers swept the Martin Methodist Redhawks in three games. The teams battled neck and neck throughout the game, resulting in close scores. In the first two sets, the Golden Tiger led 25-23, 25-17. The Brenau girls finished off the game by winning 25-20.
Ellen Lemos led the team in kills with 15 and earned 15 digs. Rachel Adam followed her with 14. Pamela Konken also starred in the game with 11 kills and 13 digs.
Brenau University scored 47 kills, 65 digs, 8 aces, and 3 blocks total against Martin Methodist.
The Golden Tigers are now preparing for their trip to the conference tournament. The Brenau volleyball team is now on a 5 game winning streak!
The Southern States Athletic Conference tournament will be held in Montgomery, Alabama next Thursday through Saturday.
