Greek Sing 2014

Gray skies and thunder storms were not enough to hold off Brenau University’s annual fall semester Greek Sing. As sororities gathered in the amphitheater, where the event is usually held, bright bolts of lightning and the rumbling of thunder forced a last minute switch in venues, but did not change the high energy that Greek Sing brings to the women of Brenau.

Each sorority piled into the SUB carrying their sorority letters or sporting funky outfits, not allowing the severe thunderstorm outside to affect the show. Students, family and guests slowly began to fill every chair, wall space and walkway in anticipation of seeing the quirky songs each of the sororities prepared to jam out to.

The ladies of Alpha Gamma Delta gladly pointed this year’s rush recruits towards their “Nut House.” Alpha Delta Pi gave the crowd another performance to enjoy as they rocked out to an 80’s workout accessorized with tutu’s, hair spray and tube socks.

The “Oh So PRET-TY” ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. explained what a serious matter their sorority is, and the free spirited ladies of Alpha Chi Omega graced the crowd with a flower child styled performance that informed this year’s recruits of their love of queso from El Sombrero and their sorority.

The fun didn’t stop there, Delta Delta Delta kept their usual cool demeanor as they sang about their love of Tri-Delta and showed off silver, gold and blue letters. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. gave the crowd a taste of how much their sorority means to them through stepping, and the ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha made a point to show everyone who wears the glittery crown.

Last, but certainly not least, Phi Mu kept their performance hip and current as they remixed the latest pop hits to show their love for their sorority. Aside from the rain, this year’s Greek Sing continued to impress and was a great way to kick off recruitment week 2014.
