(Gainesville, GA) America has not forgotten about Flint, Michigan’s current water crisis.
After recent reports first made headlines in early January, the need to provide aid and support for the people of the contaminated areas has only heightened. As of recently, Gov. Rick Snyder declared the situation to be a state of emergency requiring help from the National Guard to bring in filters, water and testing kits.
Even the entertainment industry has reached into their pockets to donate anything they can to help the people suffering from this crisis. Rapper, The Game has donated $500,000 to help families of the affected areas; rapper P. Diddy and actor Mark Wahlberg have donated one million bottles of water together; rapper Big Sean has donated $10,000 to helping the cause, and rap mogul Russell Simmons has taken the philanthropic approach of going door-to-door and speaking with the families of the affected area while donating bottles of water.
