Phil Bonelli Kicks Off CBMC Speaker Series

February 9, 2016 By Cassidy Collier Leave a Comment

(Gainesville, GA) On Friday, February 5, motivational speaker and Wells Fargo business banker, Phil Bonelli, visited Brenau University as the first motivational speaker in the College of Business and Mass Communications (CBMC) Speaker Series. Julia Clay, professor at Brenau University, says that this series was started to help students begin “thinking about their life after Brenau” from the time they set foot on campus.

Gainesville based speaker, Phil Bonelli, spoke to students on finding the overlap of passion and purpose in your profession. Bonelli further drove his point home by increasing the students global awareness by teaching a few phrases in Hatian Creole. The first being “Sak Pase” meaning “what’s happening”, and the second being the answer “N’ap Boule” which doesn’t just mean “I’m fine”, it means “I’m on fire.”

Bonelli challenged students to really find their passion and what they believe is their purpose and to then bring those skills into their profession.
