(Gainesville, Ga.) On Wednesday, March 16, 2016 the Brenau Fashion Network held its annual fashion in the Burd Center for the public. This year’s theme “Earth, Wind, and Fire Spring Trends” definitely topped the previous years due to its uniqueness and diversity.
The event started at 6:30 p.m. with a reception with light refreshments in a social atmosphere. The show started promptly at 7:00 p.m. in the art gallery where the models were prepared to strut their stuff in front of the crowd. The music and models are a few reasons that made the show so unique.
This year models walked to a slow, melodramatic song with an earthy feel instead of the usual upbeat music. The other reason that this year was different was the size of the models that were used in the show. Tall, short, skinny, fit or thick are all words that can be used to describe the different body types of the models at the show. This was extremely refreshing to see, and made the show stand out. The fashion trends showcased really set the theme and brought it all together.
Anazjah Mayes, a model featured in the show stated, “The best part of the show was being able to showcase the trends and seeing all of the different styles within each trend. The garments chosen reflected the overall concept very well.”
The show was definitely a cut above the rest. We can’t wait to see what next year has in store!
