Legendary Artist Prince Found Dead

(Gainesville, GA) Exactly a week ago today the world lost a legend in the music industry, and will never be the same. Singer/Songwriter/Musician/Actor Prince Rogers Nelson was found unconscious in his home on April 21 just before 10:00 a.m. When authorities arrived, they tried to revive him, but nothing worked. He was pronounced dead at 10:07 a.m. After the word got out about his death, fans worldwide were saddened and began to honor him in various ways. Some cities even turned buildings and monuments purple with lighting in honor of his infamous album “Purple Rain.” Celebrities everywhere went to social media to express their sadness, and what the artist meant to them. Some claimed that he was the inspiration for their creativity and helped them learn to be be comfortable with themselves.

Prince was not only a pioneer in the world of R&B, Pop and Rock n’ Roll music. He was also a fashion icon and a businessman. With chart topping songs like “Purple Rain”, “When Doves Cry” and “Kiss” he knew how to set the stage on fire and give a once in a lifetime performance. His fashion sense is definitely going to be remembered. His high heeled boots and flashy satin suits and ruffled collars made him stand out from every artists of his time. Prince will forever be loved and remembered as one of the greatest entertainers of musical history.

It has been over 100 years since the first article was printed, and has since evolved into the prominent platform for students to leave a legacy through their writing.
