To Our Dear Graduating Class of 2016,
Putting into words what you mean to us is one of the hardest things to do. For our entire Brenau experience thus far, you have been there. You have become Brenau to us. We have always been told that it is hardest when the class above us leaves, and we never believed it until now.
You taught us about all of the Brenau traditions. You helped us pick our professors, and listened to us cry when our first day of classes weren’t what we expected. You were there to whip us into shape and help us remember not only where we came from, but where we are headed. You talked us down from all of our crazy ideas, and helped us make our dreams come true when we were ready. You were always someone that we could look to as role models. You all knew exactly what to say.
You are the only students left on this campus who saw us come in as scared, but excited freshmen ready to take on Brenau. You saw how we became as gold refined by fire. In everything we do, we look for your approval.
Brenau just isn’t going to be the same without you, and the fact that you are passing the torch on to us is honestly pretty scary. We can’t imagine anyone looking up to us the way that we looked up to you, and the fact that the new freshmen are going to expect us to lead them is scary. You have put your faith in us. We know that we can do anything thanks to your teachings and through the strength that you have given us.
Good luck on all of your future endeavors. We hope you look forward to all the late night calls from us asking for advice!
We love you,
Class of 2017
