Transferring To Brenau University

Coming to Brenau University after my freshman year was a great decision. However, the struggle with trying to keep my credits was unbelievable. During my freshman year at Montreat College, I had earned 30 credit hours. When transferring to Brenau, I started my sophomore year with nine credits. I have been struggling to catch up those hours ever since I got here. All of my computer science classes and many others had been erased.

Senior Ellen Lemos transferred to Brenau University to finish out her last two years. She had trouble keeping credits as well. Lemos says, “It was such a waste of time that we transfer and don’t have all our credits. I feel like all my school work was flushed down the toilet.”

All around campus you hear transfer students complaining about their loss of credits. Brenau University wants only their classes taken and they make it so very easily- by taking all of our credits.

Because of the credit loss, I am now going to have to take classes every summer until I graduate. I will also have to stay an extra semester to catch up. No one likes to take summer classes, especially me.

I think Brenau University could be a little more lenient with the credits. They should not punish students for coming to the university.
