(Gainesville, Ga.) – Former “Cosby Show” and “That’s So Raven” star, Raven Symone sat down for an intimate interview with media mogul, Oprah Winfrey, on OWN and expressed how she’s “tired of being labeled.”

During her sit down with Oprah, the former kid star explained how she hates being labeled as gay and as African American, but instead would like to be labeled as a “human who loves human beings.”

The actress confirmed with Oprah that she is in an “amazing, [and] happy” relationship with a woman that she has been in for years.” Raven explained how she realized at an early age that she was into to men…and women.

“I was looking at everything,” the former Disney channel star said.

Symone’s sexuality has been a mystery since her celebratory tweet in 2013 concerning the legalization of same sex marriage marriage.

During her interview, The actress expressed how she feels labels are too confining. She added that she “doesn’t need [a] language,” not even for race.

Raven shocked Oprah when she confessed that she doesn’t consider herself an African American.

“I’m tired of being labeled,” Symone told Oprah. “I’m an American; I’m not an African-American. I’m an American.”

Oprah warned Raven that she may get a lot of backlash for denying being African American, warning her that the comment would, “set Twitter on fire.” Raven then went into depth and explained that she is simply an American, mixed with a lot of things.

“I’m an American, and that’s a colorless person, because we’re all people. I have lots of things running through my veins,” she stated.

She then went on to express how she connects with every culture, and is a “melting pot,” just as America is supposed to be.
