Walking through the gates of her previous school, Anhui Normal University in 2016, Leqi Mei, a Chinese student known as Mabel, had only dreamed of coming to America. Little did she know that the opportunity would arise in 2018. “I came to Brenau University through the 2+2 program,” she said. Mabel, 21, an English Literature major and Mass Communications minor is one of the many seniors who will be graduating in May.

You Can’t Speak Another Language?
In America, learning a foreign language is not compulsory until high school. Upon entering college, schools only require that you take the minimum one year of any foreign language course. While the requirements for taking a foreign language course are minimal in the United States, I have learned that most colleges provide students with the option to become proficient in another language by offering rigorous courses; except Brenau University.
Anne Skleder: More than Meets the Eye
Skleder is so much more than just our president. She is now someone who likes the same food as you, someone who gives you big hugs and smiles, or someone who loves the same music as you. The Team Behind the Bench
At Brenau, the Spirit Cheer Team stands behind the bench of the Basketball Team making it easy to spot both teams during the game. To the ones in the stands watching, these 11 bodies don’t make a difference, but to the basketball players it means everything. “Without the Spirit Cheer Team, the gym feels a little empty,” said Tamia Francis, a Brenau basketball player.
